vancouover bc

Over Labor Day weekend we traveled out of the country to enjoy the last few precious days of summer.  International travel is an exciting thing, and we were ready for a little excitement.  We packed our bags, called our bank, paid for a temporary international cell phone plan, found our passports and birth certificates, and headed for the Peace Arch Border Crossing.

International travel required switching to speed in kilometers, degrees in celsius, different McDonald's ketchup, new currency, and navigating without a GPS (we got the wrong int'l plan), but we enjoyed many things that Canadians have to offer that cannot be found in the US.   For example:

I. Stanley Park

II. The Seawall

III. The Vancouver Aquarium

IV. Second Beach Swimming Pool in Stanley Park

V. Granville Island

VI. Olympic Village

VII. Olympic Torch

VIII. Canada Place

IX. Capilano Suspension Bridge Park

(the coolest place ever!!)

We had such a good time, but it was nice to enter back into the good 'ol USA, use our cell phones, eat normal ketchup, and see how many miles it was to home.
International travel one day, off to school the next...
