Drew and I went to the library to get some books.  Apparently we aren't the only ones excited to read them.

The girls have started walking home from school.  It's awesome!

Disneyland!

With no school on Monday (for Jake) for the end of the first semester and with Jake's broken finger allowing him to miss basketball--we decided to go to Disneyland!!  And we DROVE!!!  We left Sunday after church and came back Tuesday night.  It was a BLAST!!

California Screaming was a favorite for everyone.  Drew couldn't go on it so between the stroller passes and the fast passes, I think the total times we went on it was 6!

Grandma and Grandpa were already in Palm Springs, so they drove over Sunday night and stayed at our same motel (the Best Western Raffles Inn and Suites).  Uncle Ron drove Holland up in the morning so she could hang out with us, too.  It was so fun to have extra family there.  We spent all Monday at California Adventure with them.

The Grizzly River Run was also a favorite and got everyone WET!

We did do some waiting, but even the waiting was fun with extra family! 

 

One of the highlights for us was to watch Drew meet Lightening McQueen!

Drew fell asleep on the bench at Outback before he finished his dinner.  We were so tired but had so much fun!

 

Tuesday we went all over Disneyland--Space Mountain, Star Tours, and the rocket ride for Drew were among the favorites.

 

Despite being the end of January at the beginning of a week, it was still busy.  But we did everything we wanted to and loved it.  SO.  MUCH.  FUN.

I have always wanted to be a skiing family, but for lots of reasons we will never be a family that skis.  So I've decided we can be a biking family!

This trip was planned a year ago by a true, epic, and long-time friend, Matt Molen.  Honestly it was the best thing ever.  Friends that we love and have known for many, many years, in a beautiful, warm and super fun place.  Add a race in there and it was basically perfect.

We ran, we played at Disneyland, we biked along Newport Beach, we took a boat in the bay, we ate, we talked, we laughed.  It was the best trip.  It is a blessing to be around people who've known you for so long and love you anyway.  ;)

 BONUS:  See Elder Ryan Gibb at a Stake Conference we attended with Ron and Erica and family.  How cool is that?!  Then Steve and I took his companion and him some food and goodies for lunch so we got to see where he lives, too!  Pretty sweet.
